New energy vehicle companies will benefit from Beijing's successful bid for the Winter Olympics

When the host city of the 24th Winter Olympic Games finally landed in Beijing, China, almost all automobile companies began to take advantage of the momentum of topic marketing. But in fact, the last laugh may be the new energy vehicle manufacturers.
Zhao Jingguang, Beijing New Energy Industry Association, believes that the successful bid for the Beijing Winter Olympic Games will become an opportunity for new energy vehicles, and new energy vehicles will become the highlight at that time. As early as in the 2010 Shanghai World Expo, Shanghai local enterprises and domestic automobile enterprises have obtained a certain scale of promotion and trial operation of new energy products.
This time, Fang Li, Minister of environmental protection of Beijing Winter Olympic bid committee, said in Kuala Lumpur that the concentration of PM2.5 in Beijing will be reduced by at least 40% on the basis of 2012 by 2022. According to the Beijing Environmental Protection Bureau, motor vehicle exhaust is the main source of PM2.5, accounting for more than 30% of the local pollution contribution in Beijing. In the past few years, Beijing has been reducing vehicle pollution and emissions through the elimination of old cars and the promotion of new energy vehicles. This means that in order to ensure the achievement of the above objectives, reducing the overall emission of motor vehicles will still be one of the important directions for Beijing to reduce PM2.5 concentration in the next stage.

According to Xu Xinchao, director of the Shuangxin division of the Beijing Municipal Commission of science and technology, by the end of June, Beijing had promoted 18500 pure electric vehicles, including 12000 passenger cars. At the same time, Beijing's third phase of new energy vehicle index applications and the number of people who passed the audit increased by 84% and 92% respectively, saying goodbye to the status of direct allocation of new energy vehicles without lottery.
As a commercial vehicle manufacturer, SAIC commercial vehicles not only have the traditional fuel vehicles with national five emissions, but also launched light passenger products such as ev80. In addition, the pure electric MPV product Eg10 will also be released at the 2015 Guangzhou auto show.
"In the first half of the year, our ev80 orders reached 2200 units, which has been in short supply." SAIC Maxus public relations department said, "these orders are from the government, leasing companies and so on. Limited by production capacity, at present, our new energy commercial vehicle products will mainly supply the above-mentioned non private consumers. "
From the current point of view, although the private new energy market has begun to expand, but due to the lack of infrastructure and other problems, it is obviously unrealistic to put the pressure of energy conservation and emission reduction on the private car body. Therefore, under the red line of PM2.5 reduction of at least 40%, industry insiders expect that the government will further promote the clean and new energy in the field of public vehicles.
There is no doubt that this will further benefit the new energy bus manufacturers. From the data of 2014 and 2015, due to the promotion of the government, although the bus sales are sluggish, new energy bus companies including Yutong Bus, Zhongtong bus, Ankai bus, Jinlong automobile and other new energy bus companies still perform well.
And for Beijing's local new energy production enterprise BAIC, the event at the door is really a big boon to itself. On the one hand, Beijing's new energy vehicle market has not yet been opened to plug-in hybrid, so that strong hybrid products with good sales volume such as BYD Qin and SAIC Roewe 550plug-in can't share the Beijing market; on the other hand, improving the layout of product lines, charging piles, time-sharing leasing and other industrial chains is also conducive to the promotion of BAIC new energy.
"For us, it was a very good opportunity to miss." SAIC passenger car insiders regretfully said that because SAIC is mainly pushing plug-in hybrid products, it can not enter the Beijing market.
However, this does not mean that plug-in hybrid products have no chance. According to Xinhua news agency, Wang Anshun, chairman of the Beijing Winter Olympics bid committee and mayor of Beijing, said that Beijing is still studying and formulating a clean air action plan for 2018-2022, with higher standards, stricter measures and greater efforts. Beijing and its surrounding provinces, autonomous regions and cities have established joint prevention, control and joint governance mechanisms. This means that in the next few years, the emission control and emission upgrading of motor vehicles in the provinces and cities around Beijing will be further tightened. However, the phenomenon that new energy vehicle enterprises are facing at present, such as market decentralization and local government's self-management, may be further reduced.
This will undoubtedly further promote the new energy charging pile and other infrastructure construction. On July 30, Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei Provincial Development and Reform Commission held a joint action kick-off meeting of Beijing Tianjin Hebei charging facilities collaborative construction in Majuqiao service area of Beijing Shanghai Expressway, and signed the joint action plan for collaborative construction of Beijing Tianjin Hebei new energy passenger car charging facilities, which will accelerate the alleviation of "mileage anxiety" of new energy bus users in Beijing Tianjin Hebei region and further promote new energy Automobile promotion and application. In the next step, if new energy vehicles can be increased rapidly, private capital's investment in infrastructure is expected to accelerate further.
